Off to the Airport.

Last minute checking of papers outside the mission office and then we are off. Warriors for truth ready to wing their back home. What do you say at such a time. Only the Spirit can convey what is in our hearts. God speed.

Elder Gifford goes to Israel.

It was lovely to meet with some of Elder Gifford's family. We left him in their loving hands as they prepared to board a flight to Israel. It was such a joy to watch his mothers eyes as she drank in the sight of him .Such a look of love and sheer delight.

Smile for the Camera!!

Sister Frolich is saying goodbye to her companion and trainer Sister Longhurst. I witnessed lots of hugs and tender moments on Mars Hill. I marvel at the fortitude of these wonderful missionaries. They accept with faith these changes in their lives and continue on with the work of the Lord.

Sisters in Athina.

A smile is like the sunshine; It brightens up the day. It gives the eye a twinkle and chases frowns away. The sisters here always seem to be smiling.

More powerful testimonies.

I hope that I can share the gospel with those who want to know the truth. I want to be a missionary and serve and help the Lord while I am in my youth. Elders Lohman, Gifford, Lindfors and Grow shared and served and helped. They were a blessing to those who wanted to know, and also to those of us who know already.

Testimony Time.

I hope they call me on a mission when I have grown a foot or two, I hope by then I will be ready to preach and teach and work as missionaries do.Sister Longhurst, Elder Bradshaw, Elders Rimmel and Sebald preached, and taught and worked. They have strengthened the foundation that others have laid.

Mars Hill 25th July 2010

A time to sing a hymn of farewell and bear testimonies of truth and light. A time to walk down memory lane, and a time to tell of how we feel for days , months, years spent in the Greece Athens Mission.

Leonidas Lunch on the 24 July 2010

This was a lively happy lunch as you can see from all the smiling faces. What stories this table could tell of all the great ones who have sat around it. We share a meal and memories from as far back as the MTC . It is always a great honour to sit with these valiant missionairies.

Elder and Sister Davis-Farewell to the missionaries.

On Friday evening Elder and Sister Davis invited the Athens Zone over to their apartment for a farewell dinner for the eight that are leaving on Monday.. They have a beautiful balcony and we dined al fresco. This was particularly pleasant because of the sweet breeze. We had a wonderful meal of chilli with freshly baked rolls, and thick slices of chilled watermelon. The Davis's seemed to have settled into their neighborhood so well, and have made friends of all the local shopkeepers. What a thoughtful gift this was to those departing missionaries.

Elder Lindfors Finnish Pancakes.

Centre for YSA 17 July 2010

Elder Lindfors gave a very entertaining lesson about Finland his country of origin. We learnt about mud football, wife carrying competitions, sauna endurance and much more. We saw some photos of his country which were very beautiful, and we listened to the stirring music of the Finnish national anthem. He also gave us a taste of the Finnish pancake which is baked in the oven. Before this we had a message from Elder Bell reminding us of our worth as sons and daughters of God. He showed us a clip from a talk by President Uchtdorf about The Ugly Duckling. We are indeed all beautiful in the sight of the Lord.

Congratulation! Sister Bell.

Mission Office July 2010

Elder Dracocardos this time with Sister Andros. Elder and Sister Andros run the office with a quiet efficiency. They also run the office with a massive amount of love and concern for all of us. The office is a spiritual place because they invite the Spirit of the Lord to assist them.

Elder Bell

I took this just before Zone Conference. People were milling about, chatting, laughing getting last minute items in place. Elder Bell was lost in the scriptures, so engrossed nothing could distract him. Another clue maybe as to why he is one of our master teachers.
