Young Single Adults at Acropoli.

Elder and Sister Elks gave a presentation this evening about England. There was a wonderful turnout and we know that everyone appreciated getting to know a little more about their homeland. The food that they had prepared was delicious, and I particularly enjoyed the creamy rice pudding. Elder and Sister Mower ever faithful at the centre.

Elder and Sister Wirthlin in The Footsteps of Paul.

Elder and Sister Wirthlin were overjoyed to set foot on Mars Hill and overlook the great city of Athena. They are pictured standing by the tree which is located at the site of the old well on Mars Hill. The bottom right of the picture shows President Charles giving them a Leonidas Statue, after Elder Wirthlin gave the Institute a great lesson on principles from the Plan Of Salvation.. We have felt it a privilege to spend the last few days with Elder and Sister Wirthlin. At the end of June they take up their service as Mission President and wife in the New York Utica Mission.

Elder and Sister Wirthlin Visit Cyprus.

We were so blessed to have Elder and Sister Wirthlin join us for a visit to review the pyhsical facilities of the mission. Elder Wirthlin is the Director of Temporal Affairs in the Europe Area. Some of this was done on preparation day hence the casual attire.

Scenes from Cyprus.

The Zone Leaders in the top left picture had us going out in our companionships to hand out copies of the Book of Mormon. It was a wonderful activity and I felt a sense of unity come into play as we all participated. Sister Niebuhr in the bottom left of the picture gave a wonderful lesson on healthy eating. She copied out some delicious recipes for us to recreate.

Andrew and Julie Wilson.

Brother and Sister Wilson were visiting Paphos from Selby which is in Northern England. They brought gifts to share with Elder Gibbons who is a member of the same Ward back home.

Rob and Lizzie Harrop.

It was so good to meet Rob and Lizzie who are spending their honemoon here in Paphos, Cyprus. Rob had served her in the Greece Athens Mission a number of years ago. He knew our daughter Rachael, who along with some other YSA had camped out in his garden back home in England. It really is a small world in this beautiful church of ours.

Connecting everyday objects to the gospel.

Object Role Plays.

This is a hard one but everyone did so well. A missionary will walk by with a random object, and the other person has to initiate a conversation connecting it to the gospel.

Healthy Eating.

Sister Elks in the top right picture gave us a reminder on healthy eating. She shared the scripture in Matthew 6: 31-32 which says "Therefore take no thought, saying, what shall we eat? or, what shall we drink?....." Sister Elks asked what we thought the Lord was telling us today in Athens about food. We read from section 89 of the Doctrine and Covenants, and we discussed healthier eating options.
Sister Maxwell pictured with Sister Virkamaki, followed that with a very healthy and delicious lunch.
