Mars Hill 28th April 2010

What a wonderful trip to Mars Hill. Elders Deeley and Loynes and Sisters Jung and Frolich were so confident in their reading and bearing testimonies in greek. They also did some contacting on the way down, definitely some bold missionaries.

Everyone was hungry and ready to eat, but the best surprise was having their new companions waiting when we arrived. All of them tired but still smiling.

We went with Elder and Sister Smith to the top of the hill to see the view of Athens after sunset. This was a sweet journey to take with them because soon we will be saying farewell.

Elder and Sister Smith.

A fond farewell to Elder and Sister Smith. They will always have a special place in our hearts. When we first arrived in Athens they took us under their wing, and smoothed the way ahead. God be with you both.

The Baptism Of James Alexander Manoussos 24th. April 2010

Jim was taught by Elders Harris and Lohman .Elder Harris baptised Jim and he was confirmed by President Charles. Elder Harris spoke about Baptism and Elder Lohman on the Gift of the Holy Ghost. There was such an outpouring of the Spirit tonight that many tears of joy and gratitude were shed. The Elders gave Jim a journal to record his feelings of this night. Will get a picture later of them dressed in their white clothing.

Leonidas Lunch April 2010

Elders Andersen, Middleton,Stephenson and Foerster are going home . We will miss them all ,and rejoice that they return with honour. I never fail to marvel at the miracle of a missionary. As I listened to the testimonies and hear from one missionary " My heart delights in the fruits of the Gospel" Others speaking about drawing closer to the Saviour, loving the people here in Greece. What a joy to sit and be enveloped in such goodness.

Elder and Sister Kennedy were involved with the unloading of the donations. Two of the boxes were labelled Rexburg and Provo. How blessed we are to have received these gifts that exemplify unselfishness. Gifts of beautiful quilts, hygiene kits, schoolbags, walking aids and 250 wheelchairs were gratefully received by the Cyprus Red Cross.

It was a privilege to meet and mingle with many of the volunteers, one having served for 30 years. The children from the Red Cross Hospital were so delightful and seemed to be very well cared for.
