Red eggs abound in Greece at Easter Time. The red represents the Atonement, and the egg itself reminds us of rebirth. There is a knockout competition of tapping your egg with another egg, the one whose egg remains whole is the winner.
We brought home the red egg dye packets for each of our families. We all loved having our "Greek" Easter eggs on display in our homes! Now we are wishing we had brought hone a dozen of them for our own use over the next dozen years! (Just a hint for those of you who are still there!)
