Γεωργία Ηλιάδη was baptised by Elder Arnold and confirmed by Elder Sebald. She had been contacted last year by Sister Lily and Sister Tolonen on a bus in Athens. They gave her some reading material which she avidly devoured. She was then taught by various missionaries, some of whom were Elders Andersen, Bavelas, Okazaki and Grow. She didn't feel ready to commit until she had read the Book of Mormon and knew that it was true. She is a woman of great faith and there was disappointment when she moved away to Rhodes.
A few weeks ago she made contact with missionaries in Athens requesting baptism. The assistants went to Rhodes and in a day went through all that she had been previously taught to prepare her for baptism. She had read the Book of Mormon, marking and writing in every margin. She said that she doesn't read the Book of Mormon she studies it! President and I joined them the next day to witness the baptism and fellowship with her after a Sacrament meeting. Shannon, a member of the church who also lives in Rhodes attended and gave a talk on Baptism and the Holy Ghost.
Γεωργία is such a humble woman, petite of form yet powerful in testimony .
