Here we are in the Copenhagen Cathedral behind us is the original statue of "The Christus", made by Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen. The statue shows the resurrected Christ, showing himself to the congregation with the marks in his hands and in his feet from the crucifixion, inviting them to " Come unto Him".
Along the sides of the Copenhagen cathedral, similar in size to that of the Christus, are statues of the 12 apostles, also sculptured by Thorvaldsen. At the head of the 12 apostles is the Apostle Peter, looking towards Christ, holding the keys of the kingdom in his hands. When President Spencer W. Kimball visited the Cathederal in 1976, he bore testimony to the group accompanying him, that:" Today I am the man holding those keys."
We felt a peaceful spirit in this beautiful Cathederal, it will be a memory that we cherish forever.
